According to the survey conducted by mform.co.uk HSBC is the most consistently competitive mortgage lender in 2008.
HSBS was followed by Yorkshire Building Society in the ranking of the most consistently competitive lenders through 2008. The top five in the list was made by Newcastle, Furness and Nationwide. Furness had become the most competitive lender in 2007 in the same ranking.
The online mortgage company monitors including all fees. Each time a lender appeared they were awarded a point and at the end of the period the most points signify those lenders consistently offering good value.
HSBC has won with a total score for the year of 89 appearances in the top 10 best buy products across all product categories based on the true cost of a mortgage during 2008. The closest rival, Yorkshire got 70 appearances.
Francis Ghiloni, Marketing and Business Development Director of mform.co.uk, said it was HSBC’s “financial strength and apparent relative immunity from the ongoing financial crisis” that helped the company to become the most consistently competitive.
